ROCK HILL, S.C. (March 12, 2006) - The ETSU softball team suffered a 4-3 setback at the hands of UNC Wilmington on the final day of action at the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational.  Following a 3-2 performance on the weekend, the Lady Bucs stand at 7-16 overall.

Down 3-1, UNCW engineered a three-run seventh to clinch the victory and move to 15-11 on the season.  UNCW's comeback began with a Brittany Wilkins reaching on an error by ETSU hurler Brittney Lehrschall (Leland, N.C.).

Meghan Murray then cracked a double, followed by an RBI-single from Whitney Knudsen.  The Seahawks would get another run on a sac-fly from Ali Gardiner.  UNCW scored its final run of the inning on a double off the bat of Jennifer Bosely.

ETSU managed just four hits on the game, compared the UNCW's nine base knocks, while both clubs made a pair of errors.

Senior Courtney Jenkins (Knoxville, Tenn.) to the mound in relief and was tagged with the loss after allowing the go-ahead run.  Sophomore Briana Knight (Brier, Wash.) earned a spot on the all-tournament team after an outstanding weekend at the plate.

The Lady Bucs return to Johnson City on Thursday, March 16, when they host Eastern Kentucky.  The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m., at Metro-Kiwanis Park.
