CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2008) - Senior Amanda Haverman's (Kirkwood, Mo.) solo home run in the top of the fourth inning was  the only offensive output ETSU came up with Sunday, as Eastern Kentucky handed the Lady Bucs a 4-1 loss on the final day of the Chattanooga Challenge from Jim Frost Stadium.

After going 2-3 on the weekend, the Lady Bucs have now lost nine of their first 12 games this season.

ETSU was limited to one run on six hits and committed two errors, while EKU scored its four runs on eight hits.

Marissa Hardy (Rocklin, Calif.) suffered the loss despite striking out seven Colonel hitters. Hardy's record dropped to 1-2 on the season, while Chelsea Butler picked up her first win for Eastern Kentucky. Butler lasted 3.2IP and allowed one run on three hits.

The Colonels picked up an early 1-0 lead in the first and scored their game-winning run in the bottom half of the third when EKU pushed two across the plate.

The Lady Buccaneers cut the lead to 3-1 when Haverman recorded her first hit of the season with a solo homer in the fourth. Haverman ended a streak of 17 at-bats without a hit on the season; however, that was all the offense ETSU was limited to. EKU turned around and scored its fourth run in the bottom half of the frame.

Katie Henderson (Jackson, Tenn.) and Vicki McCoy (Ringgold, Ga.) had four of ETSU's six hits. Henderson went 2-for-2 on the day and McCoy finished 2-for-4. McCoy recorded her fourth multi-hit game of the year and Henderson's second.

The Softball Bucs return to action Friday when they play in their third straight tournament at Charleston, S.C. ETSU will look to avenge an earlier loss to host College of Charleston at 4 p.m. from the Patriots Point Athletics Complex.
