SOUTH BEND, Ind. (May 6, 2011) â€" ETSU senior Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) improved by four strokes over her first round effort from Thursday, posting a second round score of 4-over-par 76 and moving up 21 spots on the individual leaderboard Friday at the NCAA Central Regional hosted by Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course.
The Buccaneers’ top performer this season carded a round that included five bogeys and a birdie. She fired a 3-over 39 on the front nine and a 1-over 37 on the back, moving up from a tie for 79th to a tie for 58th by the end of the day.
Muehl said she was much happier with her play in the second round, and was excited to continue that trend in the third and final round.
“It went much better today, and my putting was much more solid,” Muehl said. “I was able to make some important saves to keep my score together. My short game is getting better and better every day, so I am excited about that continuing tomorrow. Coach and I are going to enjoy the course for the last time and show what the Bucs can do.”
