“Wear Blue” and support the Bucs all weekend

BucWild members can earn more than 25 points in a five-day span

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2013) – This weekend is a sports fan’s dream if you bleed Blue and Gold.  

Beginning Friday afternoon with baseball and going through Tuesday evening with softball, there will be 12 home games featuring men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.

In total, BucWild members can earn over 25 points should they attend every athletic event during this time frame, which will move members closer to earning free Mellow Mushroom Pizza for one year. In addition, if a student joins BucWild this weekend and earns 25 points, they will automatically receive a BucWild hat, free appetizer at Mellow Mushroom, an exclusive ETSU Nike T-shirt, a car sticker, and free food at select games. Meanwhile, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is asking ETSU fans to wear “Blue” to every athletic event this weekend.

The festive weekend begins on Friday afternoon when baseball hosts Marist at 3:05 p.m., from Thomas Stadium, while the fun continues at 7 p.m., inside the Dome as men’s basketball takes on USC Upstate at 7 p.m. Friday night is “Senior Night” for basketball and the game will be televised live on CSS and ESPN3. One lucky student will win a free pair of Beats wireless headphones and an Apple TV at the basketball game, while one fan will have the chance to shoot for $300, courtesy of Johnson City Honda.

On Saturday, the day begins with the Buccaneer Challenge presented by Holiday Inn at 1 p.m., at Betty Basler Field as ETSU softball hosts Morehead State. Thirty-minutes later, the Lady Bucs clash with the Spartans of USC Upstate inside the Dome on “Senior Day” and baseball wraps up the day with a 4:05 p.m., first pitch with the Red Foxes at Thomas Stadium. Fans are encouraged to show up early to baseball and tailgate, as the most spirited group will receive a free Bojangles tailgate dinner coupon.

The fun-filled weekend continues on Sunday when baseball and softball are back in action. Baseball completes its series with Marist at 1:05 p.m., from Thomas Stadium, and softball concludes the Buccaneer Challenge against Bowling Green (1 p.m.) and Morehead State (3 p.m.) at Betty Basler Field.

As a bonus, baseball and softball wrap things up on Tuesday as the Bucs host Appalachian State at 3:05 p.m., in Thomas Stadium, whereas, the Lady Bucs play Liberty in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m., from Betty Basler Field.
