2004 Season: Led the team in almost every offensive statistical category while posting solid defensive numbers from the field... Her .348 batting average ranks best in ETSU history while her 70 hits, including team leading tallies of 18 doubles and six triples ranks her first all-time as well... Sprague stole three bases for the year, also managed a .557 slugging percentage (first all-time) while shattering the total bases record with her mark of 112 for the year... Her 40 putouts and seven assists compared to just one error on the year gave her one of the top defensive marks on the team with a .979 fielding average...

2003 Season: Garnered First Team All-Southern Conference recognition after setting single-season school records in batting average (.327), on base percentage (.417), runs (33), and hits (53), and tied the single-season mark in walks (24) … one of three players and only freshman to start in all 54 games primarily as the team’s left fielder and lead-off hitter … Sprague’s first four-hit game of her career came on Feb. 21, 2003, against Robert Morris … hit safely in eight straight games at one point in the middle of the season and finished with 12 multi-hit games … was second on the team with 11 stolen bases … tied for a team-high in outfield assists (5) … also voted to the all-tournament team at Western Kentucky’s Big Red Blast ... High School: Janine lettered in softball four times for coach Denise Wilson at Orange High School in Hillsborough, N.C. … also lettered twice in basketball while at OHS … earned all-conference honors four times, was named to the PAC-6 All-Tournament Team, was the PAC-6 Softball Player-of-the-Year in 2001, won the golden glove award in 2001 and was named as the best offensive and defensive player on the Orange team ... Personal: Born on March 2, 1984 … is a business management major … Janine is the daughter of Cheryl Johnson and Peter Sprague.
