2004 Season: Her 164 strikeouts this season make her the ETSU single-season record holder in the category... Ffinished the 2004 season with a 3.27 ERA with 10 wins in 33 appearances for the Lady Bucs... Pitched 156.2 innings allowing just 120 hits, and holding opponents to a .212 batting average which also ranks her first in the ETSU all-time record charts...

High School: Barrera was twice named Mid Southeastern 4A Conference Player of the Year while attending Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, N.C., and earned her high school’s Most Valuable Player award three times ... she guided her Jack Britt squad to three conference championships ... Barrera was 18-4 as a high school senior with a 1.12 ERA and 258 strikeouts in 144 innings pitched ... as a junior, she went 21-4 with a 1.45 ERA and had 356 strikeouts in 164 innings ... was also a member of the highly regarded Carolina Flames where she was the teammate of current Buccaneer outfielder Janine Sprague ... in 2002 the Flames went 54-8 and Barrera was 11-2 with 57 strikeouts ... while with the Flames, Barrera helped her team to a third-place finish at the 2003 USFA Nationals and a runner-up finish at the 2003 Pony Nationals ... in 2002 and 2000, Barrera was a NSA North Carolina State Champion as a member of the Flames and an ASA state champ in 2000 ... last year as a freshman at Gulf Coast Community College, Barrera went 5-3 in 57.33 innings pitched with a 1.22 ERA ... in 105 at bats she hit .276 with three doubles and 16 RBIs and stole two bases ... Personal: Born on Feb. 13, 1984, at Nurnberg Army Hospital in Nurnberg, Germany ... Belinda is the daughter of John M. and Hilda Barrera and is majoring in Radiology.
