Eric Senter enters his first season with the Buccaneers after having served as head coach at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va., from 2006-14.
While at VI, Senter helped lead the Cobras to AAC Conference titles in 2007 and 2013 and the program's first-ever trip to the NAIA National Tournament (2013). As headman of the Cobras, he compiled a 190-174 record, including an 81-51 mark in league play.
Prior to serving as head coach at VI, Senter spent more than a decade (1993-2006) at Virginia High School in Bristol, Va., as an assistant coach. VHS was crowned Highlands District Champions in 12 of Senter's 13 years with the program, and made three Virginia AA Final Four state tournament appearances.
Since 1985, Senter has been extremely active in the youth baseball and softball programs in Bristol, Va. He is currently on the Board of Directors at Bristol Little League Softball.
A 1972 graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Va., Senter earned degrees from Southwest Virginia Community College (1974) and ETSU (1976) before beginning work with the Bristol Tennessee Police Department. After 30 years of service, he retired from the department and was named Officer of the Year (2006).
Senter and his wife, Debra, currently reside in Bristol. They have four children—Justin, Suzanne, Rochelle, and Lauren—and six grandchildren.
