Former ETSU player Natalia Giraldo will join the Buccaneers’ women’s golf coaching staff this fall as a volunteer assistant coach. Giraldo, a four-year contributor to the Bucs from 2004 to 2008, will become the program’s first-ever assistant coach after graduating from ETSU in 2008 with a degree in business. A second-team All A-Sun performer her senior season, Giraldo finished third on that squad with a 76.6 stroke average and helped power the team to the program’s first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference title and trip to the NCAA postseason.

2007-08: A second team All A-Sun performer who finished third on the squad with a 76.6 stroke average … helped lead the team to its first-ever conference title and NCAA postseason trip ... posted five Top 10 finishes individually with a season-best showing of third place at the South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational … her low round of the season came at the Myrtle Beach Classic where she posted a 71 in the first round. 2006-07 Season: Ended the year third on the team in stroke average at 77.2 … had five Top 17 finishes including a season best showing by tying for seventh at the Draper Valley Invitational, helping power the Lady Bucs to a team championship in that event … her best single round of the year came at the Draper Valley Invitational as well, when she posted a 70 in the first round. 2005-06 Season: Finished second on the team with a stroke average of 78.29, which set a new school record for stroke average by a sophomore ...along with teammate Laura Jansone, holds the school record for most pars in a round with 16 …  her best finish came at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, where she finished fifth … she had four Top 15 finishes on the season, and her best single round of the year came at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate, where she posted a 2-under-par 70 … that round of 70 ties for the best round two score in school history..  2004-05 Season: Became an immediate contributor to the Lady Bucs, finishing third on the team with a stroke average of 78.39, competing in all nine of the team's events ... enjoyed a low round of 72 at the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic, while also firing her best three-round score of the season with a 224 ... her best finish of the year came at the Jacksonville State Gamecock Classic, where she placed tied for 5th.  Prior to ETSU: Giraldo ranked 9th among amateur golfers in Colombia, regularly shooting 18-hole scores in the middle and low 70s ... as a student, she is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class and plans to major in business administration at ETSU. Personal: Born on April 3, 1986 … Natalia is the daughter of Mario Giraldo and Cristina Avongo… she was a business major while at ETSU.
