A native of Werribee, Australia, Sandlant joined the ETSU women’s tennis coaching staff in the fall of 2007. Buc fans will remember that Sandlant was a key member of the 2007 ETSU men’s tennis that took home the 2007 Atlantic Sun Conference regular and postseason championships. During that magical run Sandlant posted a 16-3 overall record in singles play and a 19-11 doubles record.
A graduate of Werribee Secondary College in Werribee, he attended Virginia Intermont College, where Sandlant was named to the AAC First-Team All-Conference in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Sandlant was honored by the AAC as its “Player of the Year,’ in 2005, while being named the ITA “Freshman of the Year,” in 2004. Nationally, Sandlant was ranked as high as sixth in the nation, before transferring to the Bucs. Sandlant graduated from ETSU in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in general studies. Currently, Sandlant is pursuing a master degree in sports management from ETSU.
