Journal Entry #4

Hi, my name is Desiree Dyck and I’m a member of the ETSU women’s volleyball team. This is my journal.

     The semester is flying by and pretty soon it will be time for exams. Soon it will be time for our first spring tournament as well. On the 29th we go to our first contest of the spring. Everybody is really excited to play with an actual adversary on the other side of the net. With a smaller team than in the fall, everybody will get lots of playing time and increase their playing experience. Even though we are a young team we have played together for several months now and there is a large connection evident between the girls on the team. Judging by how practises are going we are definitely ready for what ever the opposition throws or “serves” us. Our schedule is filled with practice, school work and weights. Everybody is feeling the stress of a packed schedule, but we all try to practise good time management. Getting work done ahead of time is very important, because you don’t know if you’ll have something else come up at the last minute. By beginning large assignments several weeks ahead of time helps to relieve the pressure of having to do a large project in a short amount of time.
