Barrett Earns GTE Academic All-District Honors

Johnson City, Tenn. - Senior Natalie Barrett (New Albany, Ind.) earned 1999 GTE Academic All-District University Division Volleyball honors, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Barrett, majoring in psychology with a 3.92 grade point average, earned Second Team GTE Academic All-District honors in 1998. The award is voted on by members of CoSIDA. ETSU is a member of the fourth district consisting of Division I schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.

She will now appear on the national ballot with a chance to earn GTE Academic All-America honors.

For her work on the court, Barrett earned 1999 All-Southern Conference First Team honors. She led the team with 432 kills and 1,176 attempts. She tallied 20-or-more kills five times and recorded 16 double-doubles (kills/digs). The Bucs finished the season with a 20-11 overall record and where 14-6 in the Southern Conference.
