JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 8, 2009) - The ETSU volleyball team is set to head to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on North Florida and Jacksonville this weekend. The Bucs face the Dolphins on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Ospreys on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Bucs (6-10, 5-3 A-Sun) are coming off of their second win in the school's history over Belmont after splitting their matches last weekend. Senior Amanda Youell (Middleburg, Fla.) and junior Whitney Cogburn (Kingsport, Tenn.) lead the way for ETSU as Youell has posted three double-doubles on the season, while Cogburn has two of her own.
ETSU is 3-5 all-time against Jacksonville dropping both meetings in 2008. The Bucs 4-2 against the Ospreys having won three of the last four matches between the two teams.
Jacksonville (10-5, 6-2 A-Sun) comes into the match having won seven-straight including conference matches against UNF, FGCU, USC Upstate, Mercer, Kennesaw State and Stetson. The Dolphins are led by Shelley Walroth and Brooke Singleton. Walroth is first in the conference in digs per set averaging 5.24, while Singleton has a team-best 137 kills.
North Florida (7-10, 2-6 A-Sun) has dropped its last three matches getting swept by Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State and Mercer. The Ospreys are led by Kaley Read as she leads the A-Sun with 260 kills.
