MACON, Ga. (Aug. 27, 2012) – After recording three straight double-doubles to start the season and guiding the ETSU volleyball team to a 3-1 start over the weekend, junior outside hitter Megan Devine (Kingsport, Tenn.) was recognized for her efforts as the Atlantic Sun Conference named her Player of the Week on Monday.
Devine – who was named to the Gamecock Invitational All-Tournament Team – finished the four matches with 72 kills and 50 digs, along with tallying 10 block assists.
The Atlantic Sun Preseason Player of the Year selection began the campaign with a 20-kill, 15-dig performance in the 3-2 win over UNC Asheville on Friday, while finishing with her third straight double-double on the year with 25 kills and 15 digs in the 3-1 victory over Akron on Saturday. The 25 kills and 15 digs were one shy of tying career highs for Devine, while also posting an attack percentage of .385 in those two matches.
The physical education major has now won two career weekly honors, and currently leads all A-Sun players with 72 kills on the year.
