JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2007) - The ETSU volleyball team defeated conference opponent Campbell Saturday at Brooks Gym in four games, 30-27, 23-30, 30-27 30-15.

"I am pleased with how we finished the match today," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "I think again we had people come off of the bench and get the opportunity to perform, and really do well for us."

Freshman Laura Waddell (Lynchburg, Va.), led the Bucs offensively with 17 kills, hitting .353 for the game. Senior Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.), had nine kills for the Bucs and seven digs, while Lauren Baufield (Plymouth, Minn.), had eight kills, five digs, four service aces and two blocks in the match.

"Lauren Baufield really played well today, and is a difference maker for us," Devine said. "Laura Waddell also had a great night. Laura has the potential to be our go to player, and tonight she showed how good she can be with her performance."

Freshman Whitney Cogburn (Kingsport, Tenn.), and Marissa Mortensen (Elk Grove, Ill.), shared the setting duties for the Bucs. Cogburn had 20 assists, three kills and two service aces, while Mortensen had 28 assists. In the back, Kaena Apana (Waianae, Hawaii), led the Bucs defensively with 26 digs.

"Once we were able to stop Campbell's Femi Alabi we were able to put them away," Devine said. "Callie Kiselich and Britney Loomis (Michigan City, Ind.), did a good job in stopping Alabi, and Kaena was strong in the back again tonight."

With the win the Bucs improve to 15-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play. The Bucs continue play next week at home as they will host Radford on Wednesday in Brooks Gym at 7 p.m. ETSU will finish the week traveling to Boiling Springs, N. C. Saturday at 5 p.m. to take on conference opponent Gardner-Webb in their final conference road game of the season.
