JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2007) - The ETSU volleyball team extended its home winning streak to 10 games as they swept Furman at Brooks Gym on Wednesday night, 32-30, 31-29, 30-20.

"This is our home, and we always do well at home," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "This win is good because I felt it was important for us to feel confident before we got back on the road this weekend."

Freshman Desiree Dyck (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan), led the Bucs in kills with 12. Laura Waddell (Lynchburg, Va.), also had double digit kills for the Bus with 11. Amanda Youell (Middleburg, Fla.), did a great job setting up the Bucs as she collected a double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs.

"We realized we had to make a change this week so that we could utilize Marissa Mortensen (Elk Grove, Ill.), and her defense," Devine said. "Amanda did a great job stepping in and producing for the team. Amanda saw the court well, and was able to distribute the ball for us."

Other key contributors for the Bucs include Kaena Apana (Waianae, Hawaii), who had 25 digs, and seniors Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Michelle Mislan (Indianapolis, Ind.), who both had nine kills. Freshman Britney Loomis (Michigan City, Ind.), was hot coming off of the bench and collecting four kills and five digs.

"Kaena is the glue of the team, and a player that other players and coaches can look to for leadership," Devine said. "She kept her composure, and was on with her passes which allowed Amanda to do her job."

With the win the Bucs improve their record to 6-5. This weekend the Bucs will be back on the road as they will head to Bloomington, Ind. to take on Indiana, St. John's and UNC Central in the Indiana University Adidas Classic. First match is Friday at 7 p.m. against the host Hoosiers.
