(July 9, 2007) - Coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history in 2006, head coach Lindsey Devine has released the slate of competition for her 2007 squad.
The defending Atlantic Sun Conference regular season champions open their campaign August 24 at the Georgia State Invitational against the host Lady Panthers. Three other tournaments dot the Lady Bucs' 2007 schedule with stops at Elon, West Virginia and Indiana in the season's first four weeks.
The nine-match home calendar opens on August 28 against Tusculum inside Brooks Gym. Home dates UNC Asheville, Liberty and Radford also mark the non-conference slate, and Atlantic Sun contests with Campbell, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Mercer and UNF round out the home schedule.
"The intention of our 2007 schedule is to give our team a chance to be successful in the preseason with the thought that we can use that experience to carry over into the Atlantic Sun competitions," said Devine. "While we have some significant returning talent, there is an abundance of young talent coming in this year who will see some significant time on the court. This schedule gives us an opportunity to see what they are made of before we enter conference play."
The Lady Bucs begin defense of their conference title and look to extract a measure of revenge on September 21 in a home match with Jacksonville. The Dolphins ended ETSU's season in the semifinals of the conference tournament in 2006 and were the only Atlantic Sun Conference opponent to upend the Lady Bucs last season.
