Buccaneer volleyball drops match to Kennesaw State, 3-0

(Oct. 18, 2008) - The ETSU volleyball team was swept by Kennesaw Saturday afternoon at the KSU Convocation Center in Kennesaw, Ga., 3-0 (18-25, 25-27, 22-25). "I think we need to have more intensity and put pressure on our opponent," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "We have the talent to do great things on the court, but we just didn't do it tonight." The Bucs (7-13, 4-8 A-Sun) were led by Lauren Baufield ( ETSU split the setting duties as Amanda Youell ( In the first set, play was back and forth, but the Owls took advantage of a couple ETSU errors, and four kills by Chelsea Denesha to take the set 25-18. The Bucs battled back in the second set as Baufield led the way with five assists. ETSU jumped out to a 15-11 lead, but Kennesaw took the third set after a seven-point run followed by a three-point run to take a 10-6 lead and never lost the lead making the final 25-22. |
