JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct.. 4, 2008) - After taking a 2-1 lead, the ETSU volleyball team was unable to put Mercer away as the Bucs were defeated in five sets by the Bears Saturday afternoon in Brooks Gym, 3-2 (25-19, 15-25, 25-21, 14-25, 8-15).

 

The Bucs (6-10, 3-6 A-Sun) were led offensively by Lauren Baufield (Plymouth, Minn.) as she tallied a career high 14 kills in the match. Jamie Stancliff (Advance, N.C.) also had double digits kills with a season high 13 kills.

 

Junior Amanda Youell (Middleburg, Fla.) and sophomore Whitney Cogburn (Kingsport, Tenn.) shared the setting duties as Youell had 25 assists, nine digs and seven kills, while Cogburn had 20 assists and seven kills. Freshman Jen Neice (Allen, Texas) had a season high 30 digs for the Bucs.
