MACON, Ga. (Oct. 14, 2013) – Meredith Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.) played a vital role in helping ETSU extend its winning streak this past weekend, and the Buccaneer middle blocker was rewarded for her strong efforts by receiving Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors on Monday.
Hardy averaged 3.83 kills and 1.83 blocks per set, along with hitting .543 (23-4-35) in home sweeps over Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast, moving ETSU’s win streak to nine.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Hardy was dominate again as ETSU snapped FGCU’s six-match win streak. Hardy totaled 13 kills (.579 attack percentage) and six blocks versus the Eagles. Following her six-block effort, Hardy – the A-Sun leader in blocks – has now registered at least one block in 81 consecutive matches.
Three weeks ago the exercise science major picked up A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week honors, while this marks Hardy’s second career Player of the Week award.
