JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 3, 2013) – Each week during the volleyball season members of the ETSU volleyball team will be featured in a segment called “Getting to Know You.”

The first player to be featured is junior setter Jamie Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.). During the preseason, the players were given the questionnaire, which are listed below, and each of them submitted their answers. Below are the responses by Rutledge:

Favorite Food: Steak

Favorite Ice Cream: Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Therapy

Favorite Sports Moment: The moment we won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament is definitely my favorite sports moment. I’m sure it sounds cliché, but the moment really was surreal.

Favorite Athlete: Blake Leeper

Favorite Subject in School: English is the obvious answer, but I also really enjoy psychology.  

Favorite Vacation Spot: Hilton Head Island, S.C.

What’s the number one thing on your bucket list?

  • Make a bucket list.

If you could be on any reality TV show what would it be and why?

  • There’s no such thing as reality TV. It’s all staged.

What is one thing you can’t live without and why?

  • A camera – I love taking pictures and capturing moments.

If you were stranded on an island what are two things you would bring with you?

  • A knife and lots of rope. My first priority would definitely be survival.

Is there any meaning behind your number you wear?

  • It was assigned to me my freshman year of high school, and I just never really wanted to change.

If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?

  • Jerry Springer – somebody needs to talk some sense into all those people.

If you weren’t playing volleyball, what sport would you play?

  • Gymnastics

Do you have a gameday tradition?

  • I google “inspirational quotes.”

What are your plans after graduation? 

  • Go to lunch with my family... After that, it’s all up in the air at this point.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

  • I can ride a unicycle.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the off-season?

  • Stay up past 10 o’clock
