With all the new faces on this season's ETSU volleyball team, we thought it would be fun to get to know each of the new players throughout the season. This week we talked to Hailey Aguilar (Oswego, Ill.).
Firstly, how did you decide to come to ETSU?
I chose ETSU because of the family vibe the team has. They made it feel like it was a home away from home.
How has the adjustment to college volleyball gone for you?
The adjustment to playing college volleyball hasn't been too hard, it keeps me very busy and forces me to have organization.
Do you have any specific goals while you are here at ETSU?
While at ETSU my goals are to get all A's and B's in my classes and to break all the records I can in volleyball as a Libero.
What do you feel is your strength on the court?
On the court I feel like my strength is always giving 110 effort, if I have to flip over chairs and run threw walls if I have to.
Do you have a major yet and what are your career plans?
I plan of majoring in Fashion and becoming either a personal stylist or a wedding planner in the future.
What do you like to do away from volleyball?
Away from volleyball I enjoy shopping.
If you hadn’t gotten into volleyball, what sport would you have gotten into?
If volleyball wasn't in my life I would be running track or playing softball. They were the other sports I played before I completely committed myself to volleyball my freshman year.
Do you have any rituals before you play?
Before my games I make it a habit to have my hair done the same way everyday and write my deceased friend initials on the back of my shoes.
What’s your favorite food?
My favorite food is Mac n Cheese.
If you could meet any three people, living or dead, who would they be and why?
If I could meet anyone in the world, I would want to meet Marylyn Monroe because she was such an icon in her days, she was the most known woman in the America and I would love to ask her how she dealt with the pressure of people always criticizing her. I would also like to meet Coco Chanel because she was one of the first designers that made an impact on modern American's fashion. The last person I would want to meet would be Tom Brady because he is my favorite football player and he has such a positive leadership quality about him that I want.
