With all the new faces on this season's ETSU volleyball team, we thought it would be fun to get to know each of the new players throughout the season. This week we talked to Peyton Redmond (Liberty Hill, Texas).
Firstly, how did you decide to come to ETSU?
I was recruited in Orlando at AAU’s and I was excited that a Tennessee school contacted me. My dad grew up in Tennessee so I knew I loved the state.
How has the adjustment to college volleyball gone for you?
It was really easy at first, but there have been rough spots now that school has started. I have been learning how to adjust along the way.
Do you have any specific goals while you are here at ETSU?
I want to get some good internship positions while I’m at ETSU.
What do you feel is your strength on the court?
My strength on the court is serve/receive.
Do you have a major yet and what are your career plans?
My major is Sports Management. I want to work in advertising or sponsors for a professional sports team.
What do you like to do away from volleyball?
I like to watch Netflix and sleep.
If you hadn't gotten into volleyball, what sport would you have gotten into?
Basketball. I played from fourth grade to freshman year.
Do you have any rituals before you play?
I mentally prep with a specific song, and I always try to wear the same ponytail holder for each match.
What's your favorite food?
If you could meet any three people, living or dead, who would they be and why?
JJ Watt because he plays for the Houston Texans. Justin Bieber because I have had a crush on him since I was in middle school. Patrick Dempsey because he is gorgeous.
