SPARTANBURG, S.C. (October 5, 2016) – The Southern Conference announced on Wednesday that sophomore AJ Lux (Shelbyville, Ind.) has been named SoCon Offensive Player of the Month for September.
During the month Lux recorded 159 kills in 12 matches with a staggering .322 hitting percentage. The outside hitter has had four straight matches with at least 16 kills including posting a career-high 20 kills at Furman on Sept.23.
To begin the month, Lux recorded a hitting percentage of .684 versus Hampton which is the highest attack percentage for any ETSU player minimum of 12 kills since 2012. Overall the Shelbyville, Ind., native registered four matches during the month of September with a hitting percentage of .400 or higher.
In the SoCon, Lux ranks second in hitting percentage (.322) and seventh in kills per game (3.20).
Lux along with the ETSU Volleyball team will be back in action this weekend for their first SoCon homestand as the Bucs take on Western Carolina on Friday followed by UNC-Greensboro on Saturday.
