BOONE, N.C. (September 3, 2017) – AJ Lux (Shelbyville, Ind.) and Rylee Milhorn (Kingsport, Tenn.) were named to the Appalachian Invitational All-Tournament team on Sunday morning. As a team, the Bucs finished in second place with an overall record of 2-1.
Lux finished the weekend with 43 kills and a .340 hitting percentage. She had seven digs and a total of six blocks, two that were solo blocks. In the first match against ACC opponent Virginia, Lux had a team high of nine kills and had a .381 hitting percentage. Lux had back-back double digit kills in her performances on Saturday. She had 17 kills in both games against Appalachian State and Towson.
Milhorn finished the weekend with 34 kills, while hitting .356 hitting percentage. Milhorn had 30 digs and contributed to four block assists. She had seven kills and eight digs against Virginia. Milhorn’s best game from the weekend came on Saturday against Appalachian State. She recorded her first double-double of the season with 18 kills and 12 digs. To close out the weekend, she had 9 kills and 10 digs against Towson.
Lux, Milhorn and the rest of the Buccaneer volleyball team will continue to play on the road this upcoming weekend. They will play in the Holiday Inn- University Plaza Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky.
