SPARTANBURG, S.C. (October 16, 2017) – Junior middle blocker Braedyn Tutton (Courtice, Ontario) has been named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Tutton helped her team improve to 6-2 in the conference, putting them in second place after two wins against Chattanooga and Wofford. Tutton recorded seven kills and eight blocks against Chattanooga. Her eight blocks helped ETSU record a new team-high of 18 blocks throughout the season. She also finished the match with a .400 hitting percentage. Tutton’s best game came from a 3-1 win over Wofford. She tallied a new personal best of ten blocks as the Bucs finished with a total of 14 blocks. She added three kills, while finishing with a .462 hitting percentage.
Braedyn Tutton is ranked first in the conference for blocks per set. The Bucs will get back on the court on Friday, Oct. 20 at UNCG.
