Both teams had a lead of three points, ETSU led 7-4 and UT led 19-16, but both squads came back from their deficits. The teams alternated points from 20-20 to 23-23 before UT took the final two points of the frame.

Set 2 (25-12 UT): The Vols started strong in the second with a 7-2 run to start the set. They controlled the momentum throughout taking a 20-10 lead before taking the frame 25-15.

Set 3 (25-13 UT): Like the second set, Tennessee came out hot with an 8-3 start. The Bucs started a small comeback to bring the deficit within six at 14-8, but Tennessee battled back to take a 18-9 advantage.  The Vols closed out the match with a 7-4 run to take the frame 25-13.
