East Tennessee State University head volleyball coach Lindsey Devine has announced the addition of Megan Devine to the team’s coaching staff as a volunteer assistant. The former ETSU standout joins the Bucs’ coaching staff after playing one season professionally in Sweden for Hylte VBK.
“Having Megan as our volunteer assistant is a great opportunity for our program,” said Devine. “She has been around the game for a vast majority of her life and really has an intuitive approach to her coaching style. Being a student-athlete in the ETSU program, she is able to be an impactful resource to our current players.”
Devine is one of the most decorated players in ETSU volleyball history. The Kingsport, Tenn. native was a three-time First Team All-Atlantic Sun player as well as a two-time conference player of the year. Devine set multiple Atlantic Sun records for most double-doubles in a season (25) and in a conference season (15), and for the most attack attempts in a season (1,586) and in conference play (839).
Devine also set multiple program records at ETSU including: attack attempts (5650), kills (1940) and the top two single-season kills per game marks (4.49 in 2013 and 4.16 in 2011)
In addition to leading the Bucs to their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and conference championship in 2013, Devine was also named the AVCA Division I All-America Team as a senior.
Off the court, Devine was a four-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic honoree and she graduated in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
