Jurelle Nairn joined the ETSU women's basketball coaching staff in Aug. 2013 after serving as director of operations for the Bahamas national women’s basketball team. As operations director, Nairn researched and created a database of the country’s elite women’s basketball athletes, fundraised and handled team travel and procurement, among other tasks.
Prior to her time as director of operations, she served as assistant secretary of the Bahamas Basketball Federation where she organized and coordinated international team travel as well as other related duties.
Her career in collegiate athletics began as a graduate assistant coach for head coach Charisse Mapp at Salisbury University from 2008-10. As a GA at Salisbury, she was responsible for guard and team development, coordinating the recruiting calendar and grids, managing film exchange, organizing team travel and planning and conducting day camps and coaches clinics.
She also engaged in a personal venture, the Ballin’ By Da Beach Girl’s Basketball Camp. Through the camp, Nairn helped develop dynamic basketball student-athletes through training, competition, discipline and duplication. In each of her four years of service, the camp aided in the development of 100 ladies annually.
Nairn earned an associate's degree in business administration in 2004 from Miami Dade College and a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2006 from North Carolina A&T State University, both institutions where she was a member of the women’s basketball team as well. Most recently, Nairn earned a master's degree in post secondary education in 2010 from Salisbury University.
