JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- East Tennessee State women's basketball graduate assistant coach Latina Davis (Tennessee, 96) was the 50th overall selection in today's 2000 WNBA draft.

The 5'7" guard was chosen by the expansion Indiana Fever in the fourth round. She was then traded along with Renee Robinson (Virginia, 00) to the Houston Comets for the No. 48 pick, Latavia Coleman (Florida State, 00).

Davis joined the ETSU women's basketball staff this season as she worked toward her master's degree in teaching. Before coming to Johnson City, Davis played three years in the ABL. She was selected 30th overall in the 1997 ABL draft by the Columbus Quest.

In the ABL, Davis averaged 3.3 points per game and shot 44.3 percent (85-192) from the field and 75.8 percent (72-95) from the free throw line. During her collegiate career, Davis was a member of the 1996 National Championship team at Tennessee.

Davis will report to the Houston Comets camp later this week.
