(Oct. 13, 2004) - Head Lady Bucs basketball coach Karen Kemp has completed her coaching staff for the 2004-2005 season with the addition of assistant coach Chad Hagy (Grundy, VA), it was announced today.
Hagy, a graduate of the University of Virginia, most recently served as a graduate assistant for the Buccaneer men's basketball squad while completing his degree in sports management. His coaching career began as an assistant at Notre Dame Prep School in Fitchburg, Mass. before joining the ETSU staff during the 2002-2003 season under former head coach Ed DeChellis. Hagy will work primarily with the guards on the court this season, while also serving as the travel coordinator. He will also head the video editing for the staff and development of scouting tapes throughout the season.
"We are excited to have Chad join our coaching staff. He brings great ideas having served under former men's basketball coach Ed DeChellis and current coach Murry Bartow," Kemp said. "Chad also brings a great knowledge of video editing to our staff, as well as great administrative skills which will be a great advantage for our team."
The 2004-2005 basketball season at East Tennessee State University will kick off this weekend, as both the men's and women's basketball teams open practice on Saturday. In addition, both teams will host Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday in Brooks Gym at 4 p.m. The event is free to the public.
