Babb Earns Southern Conference Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week
Tuesday, January 18, 2000 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Senior Erica Babb (Johnson City, Tenn.) earned Southern Conference women's basketball Player-of-the-Week honors for the week of January 11-18. Babb averaged 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two Southern Conference victories this week. She scored 24 points and grabbed eight boards in an 84-67 win against Appalachian State on Jan. 15. She also led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds in an 82-59 win at College of Charleston on Jan. 17. The center has scored 17-or-more points in each of the last five games, leading the team in scoring and rebounding in each of those contests. She has scored 11-or-more points in 12 of the first 14 games and has recorded four double-doubles. Babb leads the team with a 15.1 scoring average and an 8.4 rebounding average. She has been even more dominating in Southern Conference action, averaging 18.4 points and 9.4 rebounds. The Lady Bucs (7-7, 5-2 Southern Conference) have won three consecutive games, all in the Southern Conference. ETSU returns to action at 2 p.m. on January 22 at Western Carolina. |
