Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State Lady Buc basketball team will travel to Denver, Colo. this weekend for their second regular-season tournament of the season, the Denver Pioneer Classic.

The Lady Bucs (1-5, 1-0 SoCon) will meet the Bradley Braves in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 7:05 p.m. ETSU has never played any of the three teams in the tournament: Bradley, Denver and Texas Southern.

The Lady Bucs began the season with five consecutive road losses, but picked up a victory at SoCon foe Davidson on December 6. Lady Buc senior guard Chris Forman tied an ETSU record with eight three-pointers as she led the Lady Bucs to a 80-69 win.

Forman scored a career-high 32 points on 12-21 shooting and 8-12 from long distance. In addition to Forman's career night, ETSU got 11 points from junior guard Erin Thurman and junior forward Megan Jackson. Freshman guard Racquel Ellis tallied a game-high eight assists and freshman Lauren Trantham pulled down a game-high eight boards.

Formans performance earned her the Southern Conference Womens Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 12.

The Lady Bucs competed in the University of Memphis Lady Tiger Classic on Nov. 24-25. ETSU fell to the host Memphis Lady Tigers in the first game of the tournament, 90-48. Freshman forward Lauren Trantham led the Lady Bucs with her 11 points and 11 rebounds, notching her first collegiate double-double. ETSU fell in the consolation game to Northwestern State, 75-71. Trantham had her second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the game.

Following the Pioneer Classic, the Lady Bucs continue on the road, travelling to South Carolina (Dec. 19) and Coastal Carolina (Dec. 20) before the Christmas holiday.
