DOTHAN, Ala. (Mar. 10, 2007) - The Lady Bucs have already secured a bid to postseason play with their win over Jacksonville on Friday night, but they want to make school history by defeating Belmont in the A-Sun Finals, which would mark their first conference tournament title ever and first-ever trip to the big dance. Tip is set for 2 p.m. EST inside the Dothan Civic Center, with CSS carrying the game live.

ETSU marked its third-ever 20 win season by knocking off the Dolphins Friday night, and a victory today over the Bruins will tie them with the 1994-95 and 1980-81 squads for the most wins in school history. Three Lady Bucs reached double figures on Friday, but more importantly eight players scored at least eight points in the semifinal victory. The freshmen trio of Latisha Belcher (Ridgeway, Va.), Devin Thompson (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.) totaled all 26-bench points for ETSU last night. Belcher finished with 10, while Thompson and Wiles each added eight. A win over Belmont will mark seven consecutive wins for the Lady Bucs, marking their longest winning streak since 1982-83 when they won eight in a row.

Belmont swept the season series with a nine-point win in Johnson City (78-69) back on Jan. 6, and then won on its home court, 69-66, on Feb. 1. A-Sun Player of the Year winner Alysha Clark is averaging 25 points and 19 rebounds this season against the Lady Bucs. ETSU is looking for its first win over the Bruins since Dec. 1, 2005 when the Lady Bucs pulled out a 66-52 in Memorial Center.

The Lady Bucs are 0-3 lifetime in conference tournament final games, and they are making their first finals appearance since 1995. ETSU will find out on Monday where they will be heading in postseason play. Please visit http://etsustream.intellithought.net/ or click on the icon above for live video of today's championship game.
