JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2010) - Fresh off a Nashville sweep last weekend, the ETSU women's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways when the Lady Bucs return home and host Campbell on Wednesday evening. Tip is set for 4:45 p.m. inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
ETSU (10-7, 8-1 in A-Sun), who is in the midst of a season-best six-game winning streak, has also won eight straight against the Lady Camels and five consecutive home games to start the 2009-10 season.
The Lady Bucs extended their winning streak to six, following an 81-67 victory over Belmont on Saturday inside the Curb Event Center. A pair of senior leaders stepped up big in the 14-point win over the Bruins, as Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) and TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.) each notched double-doubles. Evans finished with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Wiles ended with 20 points and 10 boards.
Like the Lady Bucs, Campbell (11-7, 6-3) is also coming off a Nashville sweep. The Lady Camels rallied to defeat Belmont on Thursday night (74-67) and wrapped up the weekend with an 88-80 win at Lipscomb on Saturday. Senior post Ashley Williamson paced Campbell with 16 points in the win over the Lady Bisons, while sophomore guard Kate Cloxton netted 22 in the win at Belmont.
Campbell is led by freshman guard Tonisha Baker's 9.8 points per game, while Williamson is posting 8.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. As a team, the Lady Camels lead the league in field goal percentage (43.4), while ranking fourth in scoring offense (69.2) and scoring defense (66.5).
