KENNESAW, Ga. (Jan. 6, 2010) - Coming off a stunning seven-point loss at USC Upstate, the ETSU women's basketball team looks to regroup and snap a three-game losing skid when the Lady Bucs take on Kennesaw State on Thursday afternoon. Tip is set for 3 p.m. inside the KSU Convocation Center.

The Lady Bucs carry a 4-7, 2-1 mark into Atlantic Sun action, and are led by conference scoring leader TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.). Wiles, who has scored 20-plus points in the last five games and eight total, is averaging 21.4 points through 11 contests. In addition to Wiles, fellow senior and preseason player of the year selection Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) has given ETSU a lift. Evans is one of three players in the A-Sun to be averaging a double-double (17.7pts/11.0rebs) and ranks fourth in the country with her eight double-doubles on the year.

ETSU has never lost to the Owls in its seven prior meetings, including a most recent 73-66 victory back on Feb. 26, 2008 in Johnson City. Evans finished the game with 26 points, 12 rebounds and six steals, and Wiles chipped in with 10 rebounds, eight boards, two assists and two steals in the seven-point conference win.

Kennesaw State enters Thursday's match-up with a 4-9, 1-3 record, and the Owls have lost five straight games. The Owls are led by the strong guard play of sophomore Angie Smith and senior Gia Lockett. Smith leads the team with 12.8 points per game and Locket is posting 11.6 and 3.0 steals.

As a team, Kennesaw State ranks ninth in scoring offense (59.2) and eighth in defense (71.0).

Fans unable to make the trip to Georgia can listen to all the action live, as "Voice of the Bucs" Jay Sandos will handle the play-by-play duties. Fans in Johnson City should tune into WKPT-AM (1590), WOPI-AM (1490) in Bristol, WKPT-AM (1400) in Kingsport.
