MACON, Ga. (March 1, 2010) - After averaging a double-double and help guiding the Lady Bucs to their second Atlantic Sun regular season title in the last three years, senior guard/forward Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) was named Player of the Week, announced the league office on Monday afternoon.

Evans, who finished her career with seven weekly honors, averaged 13.3 points, 14.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 35.7 minutes this past week for ETSU. With the wins over USC Upstate, UNF, and Jacksonville, the Lady Bucs moved their winning streak to seven straight; while closing out regular season play winning 16 of its last 17 contests.

The Griffin, Ga. native began the week with a 10-point, 18-rebound effort in the 88-67 win over the Spartans on Senior Day inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center. The win over Upstate capped off a perfect 11-0 regular season mark for the Lady Bucs.

In Jacksonville, Evans helped fuel an ETSU comeback in the 68-58 win at North Florida on Thursday night. The Preseason Player of the Year selection, finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, but it was one of her four steals that ignited a 26-9 run in the final 9-plus minutes to rally the Lady Bucs to the 10-point conference win. On Saturday, knowing her Lady Bucs needed to defeat Jacksonville to win the regular season title outright, Evans once again posted all-conference numbers on the hardwood. Evans recorded her 51st career double-double - finishing with 15 points and 16 rebounds in the 79-70 victory over the Dolphins inside Veterans Memorial Arena.

This marks the third weekly award for the Sport Management student-athlete this season and the second straight for the Lady Bucs after junior point guard Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) received the honor a week ago.

The Lady Bucs enter the 2010 General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament as the top seed for the third straight year after finishing the season at 20-8, 18-2. This marks the fourth straight year ETSU has recorded 20 wins and the 18 conference victories set a program best.

ETSU and #8 Stetson kick off the conference tournament with a noon tip inside Mercer's University Center on Wednesday afternoon.
