Davis' dominating performance lands her Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor

MACON, Ga. (Feb. 22, 2010) - Junior point guard Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) has given the Lady Bucs a huge spark over the last seven games, and on Monday afternoon the league office named her Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after her dominating performance at Campbell on Thursday night.


Davis, who is leading the Lady Bucs in scoring at 15.1 points per game over the last seven contests, scored a game-high 22 points and recorded seven rebounds and seven assists in the Lady Bucs' 77-67 win over Campbell in Buies Creek. The 5-5 guard set new career highs with 13 made free throws and seven rebounds in 34 minutes of action; while keeping the Lady Bucs' regular season title hopes within reach.


This marks the first career award for the nursing major and it's the third time this season the Lady Bucs have received the honor.


Davis and the Lady Bucs look to cap off a perfect home record when ETSU hosts USC Upstate tonight. Tip is set for 7 p.m. inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center. Tickets, food, and drink are all $1 and the game will be televised regionally on CSS.
