CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Dec. 7, 2010) - The Lady Bucs' four-game road swing comes to an end Wednesday night when the ETSU women's basketball team travels to Chapel Hill for a showdown with the 14th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. inside Carmichael Arena.

ETSU (2-4) is currently winless on this road swing after making stops to then seventh-ranked Ohio State, Middle Tennessee State and most recently USC Upstate. Overall, the Lady Bucs have dropped four straight games, marking their longest stretch since the 2007-08 season.

The Lady Bucs seemed ready to snap their losing skid last Saturday evening at Upstate, but the Spartans rallied from 14-point second-half deficit to defeat ETSU, 78-70. Freshman Destiny Mitchell (Bluffton, Ga.) did everything she could to help the Lady Bucs as she scored a career high 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record her second career double-double. However, foul trouble doomed the Blue and Gold as senior captain Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) fouled out with over seven minutes remaining, letting Upstate to climb back into the contest.

North Carolina will be a tough test for the Lady Bucs as the Tar Heels have won their first eight games this season and have an all-time home winning percentage of .817, resulting in the ninth most difficult location for visiting teams all-time in Division I women's basketball.

As a team, the Tar Heels are averaging 90.2 points per game and winning on average by 40.5 points per game. North Carolina is led by 5-foot-8 senior guard Italee Lucas - who averaging 20.4 points and is shooting 46.2 percent (24-52) from beyond the arc.

The Lady Bucs are still searching for their first-ever win over North Carolina as the Tar Heels have won the 11 prior meetings, including a 104-65 contest last December.

Fans unable to attend the game can listen to all the action on WXSM-AM 640 The Sports Monster as Voice of the Lady Bucs John Stevens will handle the play-by-play. Live stats will also be offered through GameTracker.
