Sophomore nets a career-high 17 points in her second-career start

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 19, 2013) – Sophomore guard Chandler Christopher (Greeneville, Tenn.) has been named College Sports Madness Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after a career-best performance in an 81-72 win at Appalachian State on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

This is the first player of the week accolade of Christopher’s career.

In the Greeneville native’s second-career start, Christopher posted a career-high 17 points, including a career-best three made three-pointers, which helped the Buccaneers gain their first win of the season. The sophomore also recorded career-highs in minutes played (37), assists (4) and steals (2).

After being elevated by head coach Brittney Ezell from a walk-on to a scholarship player prior to this season, the guard has not disappointed. Christopher recorded his first-career start to begin the year at Memphis on Nov. 8. and in a tough overtime loss, played 27 minutes, grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists.
