JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 2, 2014) -- East Tennessee State University women’s basketball guard Chandler Christopher (Greeneville, Tenn.) has been selected as the State of Franklin Bank/ETSU Community Service Student-Athlete of the Month, an award recognizing the exemplary community service efforts of ETSU student-athletes.
When Christopher is not leading her team in assists or being selected to the A-Sun All-Academic team for her outstanding effort in the classroom, she is giving back to the local community. Being from Greeneville, Christopher takes a special pride in giving back to the community that has supported through her basketball journey in high school and into college. Some of her recent endeavors include: hosting local elementary children, volunteering in the animal shelter, thrift store, and with the Marsh Blood Bank Drive.
“Chandler thrives when she is able to help others and serve as a role model,” commented assistant women’s basketball coach, Laura Barry. “She sets a great example of what it means to be a student-athlete in the way she willingly gives time to help others, volunteer, and lead by serving.”
Congratulations to Chandler Christopher on winning the State of Franklin Bank and East Tennessee State University’s Community Service Student-Athlete of the Month award for the month of March.
State of Franklin Bank and ETSU are proud to recognize Christopher for his efforts in the Johnson City community.
