JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2014) – ETSU women’s basketball head coach Brittney Ezell announced Friday the signings of Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.), Carley Lytton (Floyd, Va.) and Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) to National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2015-16 season.
“I absolutely love our 2015 signing class,” said Ezell. “From day one, they have been such a joy to recruit and I know that all three are committed to our vision for ETSU women’s basketball. They are talented, smart, personable and competitive. Raven, Carley and Sadasia are all winners and we are honored to have them in Blue & Gold as Buccaneers.”
Raven Dean – 6’0 Power Forward – Charlotte, NC – Ardrey Kell High School – 3.8 GPA
“Raven is an incredible addition to our program. She is one of the most gifted and versatile athletes that I have encountered. She is a physical presence and relentlessly competitive. Raven possesses a toughness and natural leadership quality that makes people gravitate to her immediately. She has been a joy to recruit and I know that her best basketball is still ahead of her here at ETSU. I don’t know if I have ever met a kid more committed to winning in all aspects of life than Raven Dean. You either possess that quality or you don’t.”
Carley Lytton – 6’0 Shooting Guard – Floyd, VA – Floyd Co. High School – 3.6 GPA
“We are beyond thrilled to add Carley Lytton to our Buccaneer family. Carley impressed our coaching staff with her ability to shoot the ball with deep-three range and her craftiness in running a team. Carley has great length at the guard position and sees the floor remarkably well. She comes from a winning tradition at Floyd County and understands what it takes to compete at a high level. She is a floor leader and is always, selflessly all about the team. Carley is a perfect fit into what we are building here and will continue to grow her game for us at ETSU.”
Sadasia Tipps – 6’1 Power Forward – Hickory, NC – Hickory High School – 3.6 PGA
“What a wonderful addition to our program. Sadasia Tipps is a big-time, multi-faceted athlete. She has that explosive ‘wow’ factor about her when you evaluate her speed, agility, and jumping ability. I will liken her to Serena Clark in a lot of ways but Sadasia is capable of stretching the defense to the three-point line with her shooting ability as well. Sadasia is the consummate team player who also comes from a championship-level high school program. She is an eager learner and has a tremendous amount of upside. I have no doubt that Sadasia will be impactful to the program in a multitude of ways.”
