The Bucs are home for three of their next four games

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 11, 2015) – Coming off a season long five game road trip the ETSU women’s basketball team looks to snap a four-game skid when they host Armstrong State on Sunday, Dec.13 at 2 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.

The Tip-Off
When the Buccaneers and Pirates get together on Sunday, it will be the first meeting between the two programs. The Bucs are 73-26 all-time against non-NCAA Division I opponents with a 69-46 victory over Brevard College early this season. ETSU is currently on a four-game losing streak, dropping back-to-back games against SEC opponents Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Leading the Way
In seven of the nine games this season the Bucs have held a lead at one point during the game. Most notably, ETSU held a two point lead for three minutes against nationally ranked Tennessee in Knoxville. ETSU also held a two point lead over Vanderbilt for nearly two minutes.

Home Sweet Home
Coming off a season long five game road trip the Bucs return to Brooks Gym where they are 2-0 this season. In those contests, the Bucs are averaging 71.5 points per game, which is 24 points higher than contests on the road. In the last two seasons, ETSU is 13-2 inside Brooks Gym, the third best home record in the SoCon.

On this Date
ETSU on December 13th is 3-2 all-time with their last victory on the day coming last year against Eastern Kentucky, 64-49. On the date, the Bucs average 72.6 points per game.

Closing in on 600
The ETSU women’s basketball program is just 12 victories away from the 147th program in NCAA women’s basketball history to reach 600 wins. ETSU would be the fifth member of the Southern Conference to eclipse the 600 win mark.

Inside the Numbers
ETSU is 2-1 this season when holding their opponent to less than 59 points … The Bucs are 3-1 when outrebounding the opponent and 0-5 when getting outrebounded … ETSU is 3-1 when holding opponents to 39 percent or less shooting … Shamauria Bridges has already had eight double-digit point games during the 2015 campaign.  

Scouting Armstrong State
The Pirates come into Sunday’s contest with an overall record of 8-1, coming away victorious in three of their last four games. Armstrong State is led by junior forward B’Kyla Webb who averages 14.8 points per game along with 9.9 rebounds. Webb is one of three players for the Pirates to average double-digit points.  

What’s Up Next?
The Bucs continue their homestand with a contest on Wednesday, Dec. 16 against Campbell at 7 p.m. inside Brooks Gym. ETSU then hits the road for a Friday showdown with Davidson on Dec. 18 before returning home on Dec. 21 to take on Austin Peay.
