The Bucs look for their first conference victory

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Jan.8, 2016) – The ETSU Women's basketball team will look to bounce back after a tough loss at Furman on Saturday when they challenge the Terriers of Wofford at 5:00 p.m. inside Benjamin Johnson Arena.

The Tip-Off
The Buccaneers and Terriers will meet for the 19th time on Saturday with ETSU holding a favorable edge in the all-time series, 16-2. The Bucs swept Wofford last season and overall have won the last 11 meetings between the two programs.

Tianna Tarter Time
On Thursday's 81-77 defeat at Furman, sophomore guard Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) put on a show dropping a career-high 30 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. It's the third time this season Tarter has registered at least 20 points.

20/20 Vision
The Bucs have scored 20 or more points in five of the last eight quarters including the final three quarters against Furman.

Let's Get a Victory
ETSU hasn't started conference play 0-2 since the 2011 season when they were a part of the Atlantic Sun conference.

On This Date...
January 9th has been kind to the Buccaneers as they have an all-time record of 6-2 on Jan.9. ETSU's last victory on the day came in 2011 in a home contest vs. Kennesaw State. In the eight contests all-time, the Blue & Gold are averaging 74.25 points per game.

Sustained Success the Last 20 Years
The ETSU Women's Basketball program has had success the past two decades, recording double digit win season 14 times in the last 20 years. During that time, the Bucs have reached the NCAA Tournament three times.

Scouting the Terriers
Wofford comes into Saturday's confernece with an 0-1 record in SoCon play and 5-9 overall. The Terriers are coming off a 53-40 defeat at the hands of the two-time defending champion Chattanooga. Wofford is led by Kentra Washington who averages 12.6 points per game.
