ETSU is 6-0 this season inside Brooks Gym

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan.13, 2016) – When the ETSU Women's Basketball team hosts UNC-Greensboro on Thursday, the Buccaneers will be putting their perfect home record on the line. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and can be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Tip-Off
The Buccaneers and Spartans will meet for the 24th time with ETSU leading the all-time series 15-8. As of late the series has been dominated by the Bucs, winning the last six contests against UNCG.

Tarter's Time
Sophomore guard Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) has cemented her case as one of the best players in the Southern Conference the last two games averaging 25 points and six rebounds per game. At Furman, Tarter registered a career-high 30 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Home Sweet Home
ETSU is 6-0 this season inside Brooks Gym, the best start at home since the 2009-10 season. In the six home victories the Bucs have averaged 71.3 points per game and have been winning by an average margin of 14.2 points.

Dominating Conference Home Openers
Since the 1998 season, ETSU is 15-2 in conference home openers with their last loss coming in 2012 against Florida Gulf Coast. Under head coach Brittney Ezell the Bucs are 2-0 in conference home openers.

Sustained Success last 21 years
With a victory, the ETSU Women's Basketball program will have recorded double-digit wins in 15 of the last 21 seasons. During that time, the Bucs have reached the NCAA Tournament three times.

Bridges One of the Nation's Best
Junior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) has been a potent threat from behind the three-point line as she ranks third in the NCAA in three-pointers attempted (137) and fifth in the NCAA in three-pointers made (48). In her career, Bridges has totaled 942 points as she is looking to become the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club.

Scouting the Spartans
UNC-Greensboro heading into Thursday's contest is 8-9 overall and 0-2 in SoCon play. Last Thursday the Spartans fell to Mercer at home, 86-78 in overtime and followed that up with another defeat at the hands of Samford. UNCG is led by senior guard Lucy Mason who ranks fifth in the NCAA with 23.9 points per game. With a loss, UNCG will start 0-3 in SoCon play for the fourth straight year.
