Bucs are 7-0 at home,averaging 80.1ppg inside Brooks Gym

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan.15 2016) – Riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak in conference play, the ETSU Women's Basketball team returns to action on Saturday to take on the Catamounts of Western Carolina inside Brooks Gym. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m and can be seen on ESPN3.

The Tip-Off 
On Saturday it will be the 68th meeting between the Buccaneers and the Catamounts, the third most game against one opponent in ETSU history. The Bucs lead the all-time series 45-22 and have won the last three meetings. Bucs knocked out Western Carolina in the first round of the SoCon Tournament last season. 

Bucs in the Zone vs. UNC-Greensboro
In a 89-73 victory over UNCG, the Bucs shot a season-high 57.6 percent from the field while scoring 89 points. The point total was the most for ETSU since the 2011-12 season. 

Tarter's World
Sophomore guard Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) cemented her case as one of the best players in the Southern Conference on Thursday against UNCG when she dropped a career-high 33 points against the Spartans. In the last three games, Tarter is averaging 27.1 points per game. 

20/20 Vision
Since the start of conference, ETSU has scored 20 or more points in seven of the 12 quarters. Against Furman and UNCG, the Bucs scored 20 or more points in a quarter three times. 

Five Players, One Team
In Thursday's victory over UNCG, five ETSU players scored in double figures, the first time that has happened since facing Iona last season. 

Home Sweet Home
ETSU is 7-0 this season inside Brooks Gym, the best start at home since the 2009-10 season. In the seven home victories the Bucs have averaged 80.1 points while winning by an average margin of 15.1 points per game. 

Bridges One of the Nation's Best
Junior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) has been a potent threat from behind the three-point line as she ranks third in the NCAA in three-pointers attempted (142) and eighth in the NCAA in three-pointers made (50). In her career, Bridges has totaled 954 points as she is looking to become the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club. 

Scouting the Catamounts
Western Carolina comes into Saturday's contest with an overall record of 4-13 and 0-3 in SoCon play. The Catamounts have dropped their first three games in the conference losing to the top three teams of Chattanooga, Mercer and Samford. WCU averages 62.4 points per game, the fourth most in the SoCon and are led by sophomore Ace Easter who averages 10.9 points per game. 

What’s Up Next?
The Bucs will hit the road for a pivotal weekend between two of the top teams in the Southern Conference. ETSU travels to Birmingham, Ala. on Thursday Jan.21 to take on Samford at 7:00 p.m. The Blue & Gold round out the weekend against Mercer on Jan. 23. Both games can been seen on ESPN 3.
