During SoCon Play,Tarter has averaged 25 points per game

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (January 19, 2016) - On Tuesday the Southern Conference announced that sophomore Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) has been named Women's Basketball Player of the Week for all games played Jan.12-18. 

In two games against UNC-Greensboro and Western Carolina, Tarter averaged 25 points, 6.5 assists and five rebounds. Against UNCG the Johnson City, Tenn., native recorded a career-high 33 points along with six assists and six steals. In her previous game against Western Carolina she registered 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

During the week of Jan. 12-18, the Buccaneers went 2-0 and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. It's the second time this season Tarter has been named SoCon Player of the Week, receiving the honor back on Dec. 23.

This season Tarter has played in 11 games, averaging 19 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. During conference play she has averaged 25 points per game.
