MACON, Ga. (Jan. 22, 2016) – With it's three-game win streak coming to an end on Thursday the ETSU Women's Basketball team looks to rebound on the road at Mercer on Saturday, Jan. 22. The Buccaneers are 3-2 in Southern Conference play while Mercer is leading the SoCon with a perfect 4-0 record. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3.

All-Time Series Record: 31st meeting, ETSU leads 17-13
This will be the 31st meeting between the Buccaneers and the Bears with ETSU leading the all-time series, 17-13. The Blue & Gold have won the last three contests in the series all coming last year. The Bucs swept the Bears in the regular season before knocking Mercer out of the SoCon Tournament in the Semifinals.
Tough Second Half for the Bucs at Samford
In Thursday's contest at Samford, the Bucs were unable to overcome cold shooting in the second half as the Bulldogs ended ETSU's three-game win streak. The Bucs were outscored 20-6 in the third quarter and shot 2-of-15 from the three-point line.
Tarter's Full Stat Line
Sophomore Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) did it all for the Bucs in Thursday's contest at Samford leading ETSU in Points (14), Rebounds (7), Assists (3) and Steals (1). Since the start of SoCon play Tarter is the third leading scorer, averaging 22.8 points per game.
Tarter named SoCon Player of the Week
Tarter was named SoCon Player of the Week for all games between Jan.12-18. In two games she led the Bucs to back-to-back home victories over UNC-Greensboro and Western Carolina. During the week, the sophomore guard averaged 25 points, 6.5 assists and five rebounds per game.
In the past three games senior Chandler Christopher (Greeneville, Tenn.) has recorded double-digit points, the longest stretch for her this season. Against Western Carolina, Christopher tied a career-high with 20 points.
Turn it Over, Score some points
Over the past five games the Bucs have made the most of their opponents mistakes averaging 16 points per game off turnovers.
In 20 games this season, ETSU has held it's opponent to under 75 points 17 times. ETSU has given up 75 or more points to Austin Peay, Furman and nationally ranked Tennessee.
Scouting the Bears
Heading into Sunday's contest, Mercer sits atop of the Southern Conference at 4-0 and 14-5 overall. On Thursday the Bears earned a big victory over two-time defending champion Chattanooga, snapping the Mocs 52-game SoCon winning streak. The catalyst for the Mercer offense is sophomore Kahlia Lawrence who ranks second in SoCon with 18.2 points per game.

ETSU will have a week to prepare before their next game against rival Chattanooga on Jan. 30 at 2:00 p.m. inside Brooks Gym. The last time the two programs met was in the SoCon Tournament Championship.
