ETSU is 10-2 inside Brooks Gym this season

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 19, 2016) – The ETSU Women's Basketball team will close out home play this season when it welcomes Samford to Brooks Gym on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the contest, the Buccaneers will honor a group of two seniors who will play their final career ETSU home game.

The Tip-Off
This will be the fifth meeting between the Buccaneers and the Bulldogs with Samford coming away victorious in the last two meetings.
Earlier this season, ETSU fell 55-47 at Samford.

Senior Day Recognition
Saturday's contest will recognize Chandler Christopher (Greeneville,Tenn.) and Shomari Kendrick (Lexington, Ky.) as part of Senior Day before the game. Christopher has played in 102 games, starting 87 in her Buccaneer career. Kendrick in two years has a career average of 3.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Home Finale
Since 2000, the Bucs have dominated in their final regular season home game compiling an 11-4 record. ETSU has won two straight home finales and four of the last six.

The Brooks Gym Advantage
The Blue & Gold is 10-2 at home this season averaging 69.2 points per game inside Brooks Gym. It's the 11th time in school history ETSU has registered double-digit wins at home. It's the first time since 2009-2010 the Bucs have had back-to-back season with double digit wins at home.

Bridges Moving Up the Record Books
Junior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) is moving up the record books at ETSU, ranking second in career three-pointer's made with 193. Bridges ranks fifth on ETSU single-season three-pointer's made with 70. The junior guard is 19th on ETSU's all-time scoring list with 1,054 points.

This Day in History
February 20, 1986 was a hot shooting night for the Bucs who shot a staggering 74 percent (37-50) against Appalachian State. The shooting performance stands as an ETSU team record for highest field goal percentage in a game.

- Most Three-Pointer's Made (Record: 222, Currently: 155)
- Three-Point Field Goal Percentage (Record: 38.7%, Currently: 28.8%)

Scouting the Samford Bulldogs
Samford heads into Saturday's contest with a 16-10 overall record and 8-3 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs have lost back-to-back games for the first time since Dec.12, falling on the road at Mercer and at Chattanooga. Samford's offense is led by Destiney Elliot, Taylor Reece and Amara Mayers who have all recorded at least 200 points this season.
