(February 26, 2016) – For the third straight season the ETSU Women's Basketball team will hit the road for their final regular season contest as they head to McKenzie Arena to face-off with rival Chattanooga on Saturday, Feb. 27. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. and can be watched on the SoCon Digital Network.

It will be the 79th meeting between the Buccaneers and the Mocs. ETSU has met Chattanooga more than any other program in school history. The Bucs trail the all-time series, 57-21 with UTC winning the last seven contests. Earlier this season the Mocs defeated the Bucs, 65-57 inside Brooks Gym.
Tarter and Bridges have Success against Chattanooga
The guard combination of junior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) and sophomore Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) have had success in their careers against Chattanooga. Tarter in three contests against UTC is averaging 12.6 points per game while Bridges in four career games is averaging 10.8 points. In the last contest against Chattanooga, the guards combined for 39 of ETSU's 57 total points.
Going from 1st to 3rd
During the 2015 campaign, the Blue & Gold have outscored their opponents, 401-381 in the first quarter. The score differential is nearly the same coming out of halftime as the Bucs have outscored their opponents in the third quarter, 457-438.
It only takes 60
ETSU is 13-1 when scoring at least 60 points this season.
Leading the Way
The Bucs have held a lead at one point in 24 of the 28 games played this season. In the last two seasons combined ETSU has led in 55 of 61 games.
"ETSU Tough" Schedule
According to the NCAA, the Bucs have the third toughest schedule in the Southern Conference ranking 170th. The only SoCon teams ahead of the Bucs are Western Carolina and Chattanooga.
All Roads Lead to Asheville
The 2016 Women's Basketball Championship returns to Asheville, N.C. This year's conference tournament is scheduled from March 3rd through the 7th at the U.S. Celluar Center. All eight teams will be battling it out for the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Scouting the Chattanooga Mocs
Chattanooga sits atop the conference standings with a record of 11-2 in SoCon play and 20-7 overall. The Mocs have won their last seven games previously defeating Samford and Mercer last weekend at home. UTC has three players averaging double digit points with Jasmine Joyner leading the way with 12.7 points per game to go along with 9.3 rebounds.
