SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 1, 2016) - The Southern Conference announced its postseason awards on Tuesday with junior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.), sophomore Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) and freshman Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.) receiving all-conference recognition. 
Tarter was named First Team All-SoCon by both the SoCon head coaches and media as the sophomore guard averaged 17 points per game during conference play. Despite missing eight games the Johnson City, Tenn., native leads the Bucs with 16.6 points per game and has recorded two double-doubles. This season Tarter set a new career-high scoring 33 points and shooting 63 percent from the field in a victory over UNC-Greensboro. 
Bridges was named Second Team All-SoCon for the second straight year as she averaged 15 points per game for the Bucs. The junior guard leads the conference in three-pointer's made with 73 which ranks fifth all-time in an ETSU single-season. The Miramar, Fla., native started the season with five straight double digit performances including a career-high 30 points on seven made three's against Brevard College. Against Wofford on Feb. 4, Bridges became the 22nd member of ETSU's 1,000-point club. 
Dean was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team by both the head coaches and media averaging 4.1 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds. During conference play the Charlotte, N.C., native has averaged 5.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. On Feb.4 against Wofford Dean played a career-high 31 minutes grabbing a career-high nine rebounds along with nine points and three assists in the victory. 
It's the second straight season ETSU has had at least three players named to postseason all-conference teams. 
Mercer guard Kahlia Lawrence was named SoCon Player of the Year while her teammate Linnea Rosendal was named Freshman of the Year. Mercer's Susie Gardner was named Coach of the Year. Each of these awards were tabbed by both the league's coaches and media.
